Emergency First Aid is one of those courses that has applications at any point in your life. Not just at the work place!
At QDL Training we have 2 different courses. One day course covering the basics and most common uses of First Aid, and a three day course which goes into more depth. More details can be found below:
All First Aid courses have practical elements and will involve you working closely with other people.

Emergency First Aid CPC Course – 1 day
Become a qualified first aider! Whether it’s for your job/business or for personal reasons.
This course is open to drivers and non drivers, is a fantastic course, and comes with 2 benefits for a professional driver
- First Aid certification – valid for 3 years
- 7 hours CPC (DVSA upload)!
Emergency First Aid CPC Course is designed to enable people to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency situation at work or in their daily lives.
Course content includes:
- Incident management
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Demonstrate Safe Use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Management of the Unconscious Casualty
- Control of bleeding
- Management of burns and scolds
- Head Injuries
- Spinal Injuries
- Fractures
- How to recognise and Treat Common Medical Conditions
- Contents of First Aid Boxes
Emergency First Aid at Work – 3 days
This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid by responding to a wide range of accidents, injuries and illnesses that they could encounter in their workplace.
Ideal for organizations whose risk assessment has identified a requirement for more comprehensive first aid training. Such as having employees with a disability or a medical conditions.
In addition to the topics covered in the Emergency First Aid CPC course; the 3 day course includes assessing and treatment of a wider variety of injuries, medical conditions, and situations.
Course content includes:
- Incident management
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Demonstrate Safe Use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Management of the Unconscious Casualty
- Control of bleeding
- Management of burns and scolds
- Head Injuries
- Spinal Injuries
- Fractures
- How to recognise and Treat Common Medical Conditions
- Contents of First Aid Boxes
- Identifying and treating shock
- Identifying and treating hypothermia and heat exhaustion
- Light headedness and feeling faint
- Poisoning
Learners will also be able to help a casualty who is having a:
- Seizure
- Heart attack, including the administration of aspirin
- Angina attack
- Stroke
- Asthma attack
- Severe allergic reaction
- Diabetic emergency
This course also includes information on:
- Assessing and monitoring a casualty
- Where to get help
- Electrical incidents
- Accident recording and reporting
- The control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)
