Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Transport Managers in Road Haulage Level 3
Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Transport Managers in Road Haulage is offered on behalf of the Department for Transport and includes a range of subjects related to the business of road transport.
The objective of the qualification is for individuals to obtain the competency requirements for a Transport Manager as laid out in Regulation EC No 1071/20091. Regulation EC No 1071/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council of 21 October 2009 establishing common rules concentrating the conditions to be complied with to pursue the occupations of road transport operators repealing Council Directive 98/76/EC.
Who is the qualification for?
The Transport Manager CPC qualification is for individuals who want to:
- Enter the profession of Transport Manager
- Demonstrate their professional competence to meet Operator Licencing requirements. You need to have this qualification in order to hold an Operator Licence
Each examination paper is in two parts:
Part 1 – consists of 20 short-answer questions, requiring answers in the form of a single sentence, a few words or a simple calculation.
Part 2 – consists of 4 long-answer/case study type questions (3 to be answered), requiring longer answers in the form of an essay or a more lengthy calculation.
Marking of papers:
- Short answer questions examination – a maximum of 2 marks per question. Total of 40 marks available (max of 40% overall)
- Long answer/Case study examination – a maximum of 20 marks per question. Total of 60 marks available (max of 60% overall)

The Department for Transport (DfT) now requires prospective candidates to demonstrate their knowledge by successfully passing examinations set, in our case by an external examiner who offer their online proctored examinations on the first Tuesday of every month.

Transport Manager CPC Course & examination questions
Before ordering, candidates should note the following
- Do I need to send you any other information regarding enrolment?
Yes, you will be contacted directly by our team requesting you complete our enrolment form and return it to us to complete your registration, enrol you on the course, send your notes to you by courier, and to forward your details to the awarding body for certification.
- How are exams conducted?
We use an external examiner who offer their online proctored examinations on the first Tuesday of every month.
- Do I need to purchase my examinations now?
We advise you to, and to register with the awarding body as soon as possible to make life easier for you. You can choose when to take your examinations and we will discuss this with you further once enrolled.
- How will I receive my course notes?
As part of your registration process we will ask for some further contact details so we can forward our course notes to you. We use the ParcelForce Express48 service so you will need to be able to take possession of your notes at the time of delivery.

Would like to say big thank you to Jaime who made me very welcom. I was the only lady and only minibus driver in a group of men LGV drivers and I did not feel any difference - guys were real gentlemen and I felt very much included into the group. The delivery of the training is designed on person centred approach with loads of examples & stories from life experience of the trainer and trainees. Need to admit the convenient location of QDL site, Asda is around the corner - handy for breaks, free parking, flexible training dates, week days and weekends, which was really important for me to be able to fit in around my day work. Really enjoyed and would recommend to all who need CPC training.
