- Are you on top of your tachograph analysis systems? Downloading drivers cards and the vehicle head unit, carrying out analysis, and acting on infringements?
- Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) carried out to the frequency on your O Licence? Are you checking they are signed off correctly, carrying out Roller Brake Tests, and do you understand what the report is telling you?
- Don’t forget all those other key dates; tachograph calibration, LOLER, VED, MOT.
- Driver walkaround checks must be done every day, are they/ And what happens when a defect is found?
- Driver licence checks must be done regularly and documented. You would be surprised how many people lose their licence but still turn up for work, somehow forgetting to mention it!
- Training Toolbox Talks; e.g. can you provide evidence that your drivers have been trained not to use mobile devices while driving, and that they have also received instructions and signed to confirm they’ve read and understood this policy?
